Electrical Development Manager
1st St. NW Inc. is currently seeking an Electrical Development Manager for a direct hire opportunity with our Minneapolis based client. In this position, you will perform functions to formulate, recommend, design and develop new electrical connectivity and industrial network products or modification of existing products, including product line extensions to meet organization needs. Manage and direct a group of project managers, design engineers and technicians to ensure new product development projects are completed on time. Interface with Manufacturing, Product Management and international development departments to ensure adherence to specifications and to work towards continued quality improvement and cost reduction of existing products and processes and the introduction of new products and processes.

Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Additional six to eight years experience in product development with two to three years in project management and leadership/department management experience required. Must have an extensive breadth of knowledge of product design with embedded processors, analog and digital interface techniques and design concepts. Must have an extensive breadth of knowledge in the automation networks industry. Must be able to clearly define appropriate technical approaches and solutions to the most strategic and critical challenges. Must be able to define critical project criteria to meet customer expectations. Strong leadership skills and mastery of financial principles is required. Electronic packaging experience is strongly desired along with the ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate many activities. Ability to travel to sister companies in Germany quarterly. Electrical Engineer (Sr. level)
The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for defining and supporting real-time embedded products. This includes concept/new product definition, detailed analysis and design, design entry, verification and certification of products used in advanced aircraft avionic systems. Products include flight critical systems such as data converters, air data computers, engine sensing and trend monitoring, fuel flow management, and advanced sensors systems. Major responsibilities:
Concept development and documentation of electrical system requirements and design of flight critical avionic systems. Conduct electrical circuit design, simulations, component selection, review schematics/board lay-out, and design release in accordance with internal processes, D0-254, D0-160, and MIL-STD-461F/704 design standards. Generate and lead engineering change orders from initial release through to production. Support the development of documentation for FAA certification and new product introduction. Contribute to the development of customer proposals, proto-type development, and customer field support. Experience with real-time embedded aircraft systems, analog/digital, ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, FPGA, and ARM processor architectures are highly desired.
